Site Manager – Substation Project – Ringsend, Dublin
A Site Manager is required to lead and oversee the delivery of a new GIS substation building and associated external works in Ringsend, Dublin. This is a site-based role focused on delivering a key energy infrastructure project, ideal for an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in RC frames, structural steel, and commercial or industrial building works.
The role would also suit Senior Engineers with strong site experience (2–3+ years) in reinforced concrete and steel erection who are ready to step into a Site Manager position.
Role:
- Lead and manage day-to-day site operations for a GIS substation build and associated civils and building works.
- Ensure delivery of the project safely, on time, and to required quality standards.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors including RC, structural steel, cladding, blockwork, finishes, drainage, paving, and external works.
- Act as the on-site lead, reporting into the Contracts Manager and Project Manager who are not site-based full-time.
- Drive programme delivery and ensure key milestones are achieved.
- Oversee all site activities ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations and project-specific requirements.
- Review RAMS, method statements, and safe systems of work.
- Carry out regular site inspections, quality checks, and progress reporting.
- Manage subcontractor performance, sequencing, and coordination.
- Support resolution of site issues, delays, and technical queries.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship across all building elements.
- Liaise with senior management, subcontractors, and relevant stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements:
- 3–5+ years’ experience as a Site Manager in construction (or 2–3+ years as a Site Engineer on relevant projects).
- Strong background in reinforced concrete and structural steel projects is essential.
- Experience in commercial, industrial, or infrastructure construction projects.
- Energy or utilities project experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site coordination, and subcontractor management.
- Knowledge of Irish Health & Safety regulations and site compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, site-based environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and site reporting tools.
- Full driving licence and right to work in Ireland.
