Two Site Engineers required to join Ireland’s leading multi-disciplinary Engineering and Construction company. This company offers industry leading services in civil engineering, transport infrastructure, structure steel & pipe fabrication, water and wastewater, power, natural resources and ground engineering. They also have a major projects and a property division. These roles will be based on wastewater treatment plant projects. Sites across South Donegal and North Donegal.
Role:
- Establish and promote best practices in health, safety, and environmental management in alignment with company and project standards.
- Conduct regular site safety audits, inspections, and toolbox talks.
- Monitor and rectify unsafe working conditions to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
- Provide support with setting out works and ensure the use of correct and accurate methods and techniques.
- Assist in reviewing and ensuring that construction drawings and specification documents are clear and accurate, seeking clarification on any discrepancies.
- Perform quality checks in line with company procedures and project requirements.
- Complete and maintain accurate daily site diaries, including recording subcontractor attendance, variations, and issues discussed with clients or the project team.
- Supervise and provide mentorship to graduate and junior engineers on-site.
- Ensure effective communication between site teams, supervisors, and other departments to ensure clear understanding of project requirements.
- Support the senior engineering team with temporary works designs, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Assist with the selection and requisition of materials and plant required for the project.
- Support with the completion of inspection and test plans as per project specifications.
- Keep the commercial team informed of any issues that may have contractual or commercial implications.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the project team through training and performance feedback.
- Maintain good relationships with clients, designers, and subcontractors, ensuring open communication and addressing concerns promptly.
- Engage with the client, designer, and team to ensure the project stays on schedule and within scope.
- Provide reports and updates to senior management on project progress, risks, and issues.
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Participate in project meetings and assist in reviewing and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Ensure all paperwork, reports, and records are completed and stored accurately for compliance purposes.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of proven experience in civil engineering, particularly in wastewater treatment or water infrastructure projects.
- Competent in the use of setting out equipment (e.g., Total Station).
- Experience with surveying and CAD techniques.
- Knowledge of current civil engineering, health & safety, and environmental legislation.
- Ability to communicate confidently with clients, the project team, and stakeholders at all levels.
- CSCS Card (or equivalent).
- A relevant engineering degree (Civil Engineering or related field).
- Knowledge or experience in wastewater treatment processes.
- Previous experience with large-scale infrastructure projects in a similar setting.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities
Salary
- Salary circa €55k – €65k DOE
