Senior Quantity Surveyor (Relocate to Canada)
Exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to relocate to Canada and join the Building Division of one of Canada’s Largest Main Contractors (Circa $4 Billion turnover annually) to work across a mixed portfolio of High-Rise, Commercial, Healthcare, Infrastructure, Transportation, Educational projects etc.
Role:
• Collaborate with Preconstruction in preparing, revising, and monitoring cost reports to develop project budgets.
• Manage the subcontracting process, including scope review meetings, developing subcontract scopes, and final execution.
• Oversee the process of preparing budget estimates and cost deliverables.
• Hire and liaise with key personnel and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective procurement.
• Manage project administration and financial operations, escalating issues as necessary.
• Ensure cost control measures are in place and budgets are monitored throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to optimize procurement strategies.
• Monitor contract variations, change orders, and claims, ensuring accurate documentation and negotiation.
• Review performance standards and financial metrics against project targets.
• Prepare cost reports, progress valuations, and final accounts.
• Ensure contract compliance and advise on risk mitigation strategies.
• Lead project financial meetings and provide cost analysis to senior management.
• Manage and mentor junior quantity surveyors within the team.
Requirements:
• Hold a relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in cost management of construction projects.
• Proficiency in estimating, cost control, and contract administration.
• Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and cost management software.
Package:
• Salary: $180k to $206k Circa €120k to €140k)
• $15,000 to $25,000 CAD relocation package
