A leading civil engineering and main building contractor is seeking a talented Senior Estimator to join their pre-construction team in Co. Kildare. The team is responsible for bid management, estimating, proposals, and planning for large-scale civil projects including roads, bridges, rail, marine, and water sectors. This role offers hybrid working with two days per week from home.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with bid teams, colleagues in estimating, and wider pre-construction teams.
- Manage and deliver cost estimates at various project stages, including multiple iterations of budgets and target prices.
- Contribute to optioneering, feasibility assessments, and value engineering proposals.
- Liaise with clients, designers, consultants, quantity surveyors, and subcontractors.
- Organise and administer tender documents, correspondence, enquiries, and quotations.
- Challenge and contribute to all aspects of bid preparation and submission
- Prepare cost estimates from first principles using estimating software (training provided if needed).
- Participate in bid preparation and review meetings, tender summary preparation, and risk/opportunity registers.
- Prepare and communicate estimate information for bid review
- Ensure accurate measurement and production of quantities from drawings or BIM models.
- Attend mid/post tender interviews with clients for bids under consideration.
Requirements
- Level 8 Honours Bachelor Degree or equivalent.
- Civil engineering project experience in management, engineering, or commercial roles.
- Proven estimating experience in civil engineering bids (roads, bridges, rail, marine, or water sectors).
- Strong understanding of common contracts and measurement methods in Ireland.
- Experience with Candy Estimating software preferred but not essential.

- €75k – €85k + DOE
