Senior Electrical Engineer – Data Centre Design
Location: Dublin East
Salary: €75,000 DOE

An established and rapidly growing international engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its Dublin-based team specialising in mission-critical and data centre projects.
This role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging developments within a collaborative, design-focused environment, supporting projects from concept through to delivery.
Responsibilities
- Deliver electrical building services designs for mission-critical and data centre environments.
- Produce detailed design documentation including:
- Single line diagrams (SLDs)
- Load assessments
- Cable sizing
- Power distribution systems
- Earthing and protection studies
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, civil, architectural, and specialist consultants.
- Support project delivery across feasibility, concept, detailed design, and construction stages.
- Liaise with utility providers, contractors, and client stakeholders.
- Participate in technical reviews, design coordination meetings, and client presentations.
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with programme, budget, and quality expectations.
- Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing within the team.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Approximately 5–8 years’ experience in electrical design engineering.
- Strong experience within:
- Data centres
- Mission-critical facilities
- Large-scale commercial or industrial projects
- Proven experience designing LV and MV electrical systems.
- Knowledge of power systems, backup generation, UPS systems, and critical infrastructure design.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Experience using industry software such as:
- ETAP
- Amtech/Trimble
- Dialux/Relux
- AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines.
- Full working rights for Ireland.
Desirable
- Chartered Engineer status or progressing toward chartership.
- Previous consultancy experience within mission-critical projects.
- Experience working on international projects or multidisciplinary teams.
