Senior Civil & Structural Design Engineer
Location: Dublin (Hybrid Option)
Salary: €80k–€90k DOE + benefits (bonus, pension, health insurance discount, vehicle/fuel card if travel required)
Lead a dynamic team within a leading utility infrastructure consultancy, delivering civil and structural design solutions for telecoms, substation, and power & energy projects across Ireland.

Role:
- Lead and mentor a team of civil and structural engineers, ensuring high-quality project delivery
- Oversee design of civil and structural elements including foundations, steel structures, retaining structures, ducting, drainage, and site development works
- Review and approve drawings and models (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or similar)
- Guide the preparation of design calculations, technical reports, specifications, and material schedules
- Ensure all civil and structural designs meet project, regulatory, and client standards
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and telecoms disciplines across multidisciplinary projects
- Ensure compliance with Eurocodes, Irish/UK standards, and relevant building regulations
- Define project scopes, allocate resources, and manage technical queries during construction phases
- Oversee production of construction drawings, as-built documentation, and handover packages
- Conduct site visits, support site teams, and provide technical input during construction and commissioning
- Act as PSDP representative where required, ensuring design risk assessments and H&S documentation are completed
- Manage multiple projects across regions, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and team development
Requirements:
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (NFQ Level 8)
- 4+ years’ relevant experience in civil/structural design, ideally within utilities, telecoms, or energy infrastructure
- Experience with substations, telecoms infrastructure, or similar industrial projects is advantageous
- Strong technical design and analysis skills; experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D/Revit desirable
- Knowledge of Eurocodes and relevant design standards
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage teams, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines
- Strong report writing and documentation skills
- Full driver’s licence required
