Mechanical Design Engineer 

Location: Dublin City Centre
Salary: €45,000 – €55,000 DOE

An established engineering consultancy is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Dublin city centre team, focusing on retrofit and decarbonisation projects across commercial and public sector developments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical building services designs for retrofit projects
• Support HVAC, heat pump, ventilation, and energy efficiency upgrades
• Produce calculations, layouts, specifications, and technical reports
• Carry out site surveys and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
• Support projects from concept through to construction stage

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
• 3–4 years’ experience in mechanical design engineering
• Experience in retrofit, refurbishment, or decarbonisation projects
• Good knowledge of HVAC and sustainable building services systems
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit and relevant design software
• Strong communication and organisational skills

Desirable

• Consultancy experience
• Knowledge of NZEB, BER, or SEAI-funded projects
• Progress toward chartership advantageous
