Mechanical Design Engineer – Pharmaceutical Projects

Location: Cork, Ireland
Salary: €55,000 – €65,000 DOE

A growing multidisciplinary engineering team is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the delivery of mechanical building services design across large-scale pharmaceutical and life sciences projects in Cork. The role offers exposure to technically complex, regulated environments and the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers on projects from concept through to completion.

Requirements

• 4+ years’ experience in mechanical building services or pharmaceutical project design
• Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
• Strong understanding of HVAC, chilled water, clean utilities, and mechanical systems
• Experience coordinating with architectural, structural, and electrical disciplines
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical or GMP-regulated environments is advantageous
• Strong communication and organisational skills

Duties

• Support the design and coordination of mechanical systems across pharmaceutical projects
• Assist in preparing technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation
• Attend site visits and coordinate with contractors, consultants, and client teams
• Ensure designs comply with project specifications, standards, and quality requirements
• Participate in design reviews, internal meetings, and technical workshops
• Support commissioning and project handover activities where required
• Contribute to ongoing CPD and progression toward Chartership
