Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer required for a Tier 2 Main Building Contractor on a residential project in South Dublin. This role would suit a Site Engineer with 1–2 years’ experience with a building contractor who is looking to transition into a dedicated quality function. Strong on-site exposure and an interest in quality systems are more important than prior QA/QC experience.

Role:

• Support the establishment and implementation of the site QC programme with subcontractors and monitor conformance
• Carry out pre-commencement inspections and conduct quality control meetings ahead of each major work package
• Coordinate testing, inspections and demonstrations with the client and relevant authorities
• Inspect materials and equipment on delivery for specification conformance
• Monitor and document corrective and preventive actions on rejected or non-conforming work
• Liaise with third-party inspectors to ensure all required testing is completed satisfactorily
• Advise site staff on quality deficiencies identified during in-progress inspections
• Maintain site work documentation, inspection records and the Final Quality Documentation File throughout the project
• Coordinate all BCAR-related documentation with the assigned certifier, design teams and subcontractors
• Review material test reports with the Structural Engineer and Site Engineer, ensuring non-conformances are closed out in a timely manner

Requirements:

• Level 8 qualification in Civil, Structural, Architectural or Construction Engineering
• 1–2 years’ site-based experience with a main or building contractor
• Strong attention to detail and good written and communication skills
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced site environment

• €45,000–€55,000
