Role:

  • Review and enhance Company Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures, and Safety Statement, aligning with ISO 45001 standards.
  • Deliver safety induction training for new staff and maintain detailed training records.
  • Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses, implementing corrective actions swiftly and reporting findings.
  • Identify and coordinate safety training needs, ensuring compliance with mandatory requirements (e.g., Safe Pass, IOSH).
  • Evaluate subcontractor Safety Statements and monitor their safety performance.
  • Provide accurate accident data for insurance claims and stakeholder updates.
  • Represent the company in Health & Safety meetings, fostering a proactive safety culture.
  • Leverage digital tools (e.g., safety management software) to streamline reporting and compliance.
  • Support environmental and sustainability goals within EHS frameworks.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Health & Safety (or equivalent qualification, e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 6).
  • The Health and Safety Manager will have 10+ years’ experience in construction health and safety, ideally with an Engineering contractor.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing EHS teams across multiple sites.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across Leinster, UK, and Europe (approx. 30-40% of time, expenses covered).
  • Familiarity with Irish and EU safety regulations.
  • Strong communication and IT skills (e.g., MS Office, safety software).

  • Salary: €90k-€100k (commensurate with experience).
