Junior Quantity Surveyor – Civil Engineering Projects
A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an individual with up to one year’s experience to develop their career within a well-established and highly regarded contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across Dublin and surrounding areas.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior commercial staff, gaining exposure to all aspects of quantity surveying on civil engineering and infrastructure projects. The role offers a combination of office and site-based experience, supporting the delivery of projects across Dublin, Meath, and Kildare, with a flagship project based at Dublin Airport.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of project cost reports, valuations, and commercial documentation
- Support the management and administration of subcontractor accounts
- Assist in the preparation and assessment of subcontractor payment applications
- Monitor project costs and help identify commercial risks and opportunities
- Assist with the preparation and agreement of variations and final accounts
- Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation
- Liaise with site management teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
- Support monthly cost reporting and forecasting processes
- Assist with procurement activities and subcontractor packages
- Ensure commercial procedures and contractual requirements are followed throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related construction discipline
- Ideally 1 year’s experience in a Quantity Surveying role, although candidates with relevant work placement experience gained during college will also be considered
- Previous experience within civil engineering projects is desirable
- Candidates with a general construction background will also be considered
- Strong numerical, analytical, and commercial awareness skills
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Full driving licence required
