Building Inspector / Senior Building Inspector
An experienced Building Inspector / Senior Building Inspector is required by a leading multidisciplinary design consultancy in Dublin.
The remit of this role will include ensuring compliance with current BCAR requirements for all construction and architectural projects across the team. This role supports the management and implementation of compliance activities, working with project teams, contractors, and engineers to ensure adherence to current building regulations. The Building Inspector will carry out inspections, manage certifications and reports, and maintain accurate records throughout the project lifecycle.
*A strong understanding of Building Control Legislation, Building Regulations, and industry best practices is required*
Desired skills and experience:
- Construction-related qualification – Architect, Building Surveyor, Engineer
- Ideally 10 years+ of onsite experience either directly or overseeing projects at construction stage
- Thorough understanding of current BCAR regulations
- Self-motivated team player possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in design and construction
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- MUST hold full eligibility to work in Ireland
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct site inspections and prepare reports for a range of projects across various locations
- Prepare commencement and completion notices
- Develop inspection plans and track progress
- Compile completion and ancillary certificates
- Gather product certifications from contractors
- Attend client, design, and site meetings across sites
- Use company compliance systems and BCMS for reporting
- Coordinate and liaise with all project stakeholders, Assigned Certifier and Building Control as required
