My client, a leading developer in the construction industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join their team on a residential development in North Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Engineer to take ownership of technical delivery, lead an engineering team and progress their career with an established developer.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of health and safety, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures.
- Review design drawings, raise RFIs and resolve outstanding technical issues.
- Attend design team meetings and coordinate design documentation with site requirements.
- Monitor project programmes, report weekly progress and proactively address potential delays.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors to ensure works are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Ensure all works comply with Building Regulations, design specifications and applicable standards.
- Oversee quality assurance, technical submittals, benchmarks, inspections and BCAR compliance.
- Champion the implementation of digital management systems, including Zutec, and maintain accurate site records.
- Manage subcontractor work packages, including scope reviews, procurement, material ordering and programme coordination.
- Lead temporary works management and coordinate scaffold inspections when required.
- Manage relationships with third-party stakeholders, including Irish Water, ESB and local authorities.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and drive efficiencies through design and construction solutions.
- Lead, mentor and develop the engineering team, overseeing performance and development plans.
- Chair site and construction team meetings and maintain strong working relationships with all project stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Senior Engineer or relevant construction engineering role.
- HETAC Level 8 qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience working on residential or large-scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, technical design, quality assurance and BCAR compliance.
- Experience managing subcontractors, coordinating work packages and delivering projects to demanding programmes.
- Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and take responsibility for project delivery.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
