A leading international engineering consultancy is seeking a Hydrologist to join their growing Water & Environment team in Dublin, Galway, Cork or Castlebar.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Hydrologist looking to work on a diverse portfolio of infrastructure, water and development projects while developing their expertise in flood risk management, drainage design and sustainable water management.
Projects:
- Flood Risk Assessments for major infrastructure and development projects
- Water and wastewater infrastructure schemes (€5M – €250M+)
- Renewable energy developments including wind, solar and energy infrastructure
- Strategic Infrastructure Developments (SID)
- Surface water management and drainage projects
- Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and planning applications
Role:
- Undertaking hydrological assessments, Flood Risk Assessments and drainage studies
- Collecting, analysing and interpreting hydrological and meteorological data
- Preparing technical reports and environmental assessments
- Supporting EIARs and planning applications with hydrology inputs
- Assisting with project scoping, planning and programme delivery
- Supporting the delivery of sustainable water management and climate resilience solutions
Requirements:
- Degree in Hydrology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience undertaking hydrological assessments and flood risk studies
- Strong understanding of Irish planning, environmental and flood risk guidance
- Experience with drainage design and surface water management principles
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
- Experience within infrastructure, water or environmental projects is advantageous
