Setting Out Engineer
A leading Irish Main Contractor is seeking a Setting Out Engineer to join their team on a range of commercial, industrial, and educational projects based in Galway.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Carry out accurate setting out and dimensional control on site.
- Work closely with the Senior Engineer and wider construction team to ensure projects are delivered on programme.
- Interpret design drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Liaise with subcontractors, consultants, and project teams on a daily basis.
- Monitor quality control procedures and ensure works are completed to required standards.
- Assist with inspections, snagging, and project handover processes.
- Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and inspection plans.
- Maintain accurate site records, daily diaries, and material delivery documentation.
- Attend site meetings and contribute to short-term programme planning.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations and company procedures.
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Engineering or related discipline.
- 2+ years’ experience working with a Main Contractor in Ireland.
- Strong setting out experience using Total Station and GPS equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Good understanding of Irish building regulations and site procedures.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Safepass and Manual Handling required.
