Sustainability Engineer

We are hiring a Sustainability Engineer to join our innovative and growing consultancy delivering high-performance, low-carbon building solutions across Ireland and the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for an early-career engineer with 1 year + of experience to develop their expertise on a wide range of sustainability-driven projects.
Reporting to a Senior Energy Engineer, you’ll support energy strategy, compliance modelling, and sustainable building design across multiple sectors, including commercial, healthcare, and education.

Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of energy and sustainability strategies across multiple building projects
- Produce Part L compliance assessments, DEAP/NEAP calculations, and energy modelling
- Carry out dynamic thermal modelling (IES VE), daylight and overheating studies
- Assist in generating Energy & Sustainability Reports for planning submissions
- Conduct internal daylight, thermal comfort, and overshadowing assessments
- Contribute to life cycle assessments and embodied carbon studies
- Work on green building certification processes such as BREEAM, HPI, or LEED
- Attend site visits and surveys as required
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver energy-efficient solutions
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical, Building Services, or Sustainability Engineering
- 1+ years’ experience in a sustainability/energy role (preferably in consultancy)
- Knowledge of Irish/UK building regulations (Part L, TM52, TM59, etc.)
- Experience with DEAP/NEAP software and dynamic thermal modelling (e.g., IES VE)
- Familiarity with daylighting, air quality, HVAC systems, and low-energy design principles
- Full driving licence (for occasional site visits)
- Progressing toward Engineers Ireland membership or Chartership (desirable)
- Excellent report writing, communication, and time management skills
