Sustainability Engineer
Location: Dublin (Hybrid)
Salary: €40,000 to €50,000
We are seeking a Sustainability Engineer to join a progressive consultancy working across sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, and residential.
The successful candidate will be a BER Domestic Assessor and will carry out IES modelling, overheating analysis, and daylight assessments as part of their core responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement energy efficiency and sustainability strategies for new and retrofit projects
- Carry out IES VE thermal modelling, overheating analysis, and daylight/comfort studies
- Complete BER assessments for residential projects (Domestic BER Assessor role)
- Deliver Part L compliance reports and advise on energy standards (TGD Part L, CIBSE TM52/TM59, etc.)
- Produce DEAP, NEAP, and EPC calculations and reports
- Prepare daylight, sunlight, and overshadowing assessments
- Contribute to HPI certification processes and embodied carbon/LCA assessments
- Work closely with internal design teams, external consultants, and project stakeholders
Requirements:
- Degree in Building Services, Mechanical, Environmental, or Sustainability Engineering
- 3+ years’ experience in sustainability or energy engineering (preferably in consultancy)
- Domestic BER Assessor certified (SEAI registered)
- Proficient with IES VE, DEAP/NEAP, SAP/SBEM, and EPC generation
- Experience with BREEAM, LEED, HPI or other sustainability rating systems (advantageous)
- Familiar with Part L compliance, TM52/TM59 standards, and daylight analysis techniques
