About the Role
An experienced Site Resident Engineer (Electrical) is required to support the delivery of large-scale, technically complex data centre projects in Ireland.
This is a site-based role responsible for overseeing electrical and controls installations, ensuring safe delivery in line with design intent, specifications, programme requirements, and Irish regulatory standards. The position involves close collaboration with contractors, commissioning teams, project managers, and design engineers throughout construction and handover phases.
Key Projects (2026–2027)
The organisation is delivering multiple high-profile projects across Ireland and Europe, including:
- Hyperscale data centre developments
- High-density mission-critical facilities
- Multi-phase campus expansions
- Major electrical infrastructure upgrades (LV & MV distribution)
- Fast-track projects for global technology clients
These projects involve complex electrical systems, rigorous commissioning standards, and accelerated delivery programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the on-site electrical engineering representative
- Monitor installation quality, compliance, and progress
- Chair contractor coordination meetings
- Conduct inspections, snagging, and regulatory compliance checks
- Support commissioning, FATs, and system handover
- Maintain accurate quality, inspection, and site records
- Ensure works align with approved drawings and specifications
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practice
- Support site safety and quality assurance processes
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ site-based experience (data centre or similar complex environments preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Irish HSE and Building Control requirements
- Experience coordinating contractors and commissioning teams
- Chartered status advantageous
- Based in Ireland and available for full-time site work
Technical Expertise
- LV & MV distribution systems
- Fire alarm, lighting, containment, and security systems
- Electrical QA/QC and compliance processes
- Commissioning support and testing oversight
- Familiarity with BIM/3D coordination tools
- Experience with project document management platforms
