About the Role:
An established main contractor is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join our team on a significant new education project in Omagh, Tyrone. As a Site Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the project’s successful execution, from setting out and supervising to ensuring high standards of safety and quality control. This role is ideal for a Site Engineer with over 3 years of site experience looking to contribute their expertise to a dynamic, large-scale project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Coordination: Work closely with the Project Manager and senior site team to coordinate all aspects of construction activities, ensuring that the project stays on track, on time, and within budget.
- Setting Out: Provide precise setting out and leveling for various stages of the project, using industry-standard instruments and software, to ensure accurate and efficient progress.
- Quality Control: Oversee and maintain high standards of quality assurance, identifying any discrepancies or issues with drawings or specifications and addressing them promptly.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure full compliance with health and safety protocols on site, conducting regular inspections and promoting a safe work environment.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed reports, daily logs, and required paperwork to document project progress and any arising issues.
- Liaison with Stakeholders: Maintain effective communication with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to coordinate materials and schedules.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant site experience, ideally within the construction of educational or public sector facilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency with surveying equipment (e.g., total stations) and site engineering software.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various site stakeholders.
