A leading construction company is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join their team on a major structural demolition project in Tivoli Cork. This is a hands-on, site-focused role, ideal for an engineer with strong expertise in structural works and demolition. The project involves stripping an existing building back to its structural elements and managing complex structural aspects rather than general civils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering and technical management of the demolition project
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee structural demolition works safely and efficiently
- Manage site teams, subcontractors, and collaborate with project managers
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and quality standards
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental protocols
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and site staff
- Conduct site inspections and proactively resolve engineering challenges
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and relevant authorities
Requirements:
- Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in structural engineering or construction, with exposure to demolition projects
- Strong understanding of structural demolition techniques and construction management
- Ability to lead on-site teams and make informed engineering decisions independently
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Relevant degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent
- Valid construction certifications (CSCS/SafePass) and knowledge of local regulations
