We require a candidate well-versed in contract management, particularly in public works, RIAI, JCT, and NEC contracts. Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive expertise in handling diverse contractual frameworks, such as public works, RIAI, JCT, NEC, and others.
- Cost Management Oversight: Take charge of the cost control process, encompassing accurate forecasting, meticulous budget preparation, and vigilant expense monitoring.
- Effective Variation Management: Skilfully evaluate, oversee, and administer variations/change orders while ensuring compliance and maintaining effective communication.
- Collaborative Procurement Approach: Collaborate seamlessly with procurement, estimation, and surveying teams to facilitate subcontractor procurement activities.
- Diligent Contract Administration: Take on the responsibility of contract administration, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, managing notices, and meeting milestones. • Financial Performance Monitoring: Monitor project financial performance closely, offering insightful recommendations for enhanced profitability and risk mitigation.
- Business Development Focus: Utilize strong business development skills to spot new opportunities, cultivate valuable client relationships, and expand the project portfolio.
- Inspirational Team Leadership: Lead and guide quantity surveyors and commercial staff, fostering quality outcomes and nurturing their professional growth.
- Engaging Stakeholder Relations: Foster strong and positive relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to promote successful project delivery.
- Industry-Wide Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, market trends, and legal requirements to enhance operational efficiency and ensure effective risk management.
Requirements:
- Education and Certification: Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional accreditation such as MRICS is highly preferred.
- Work Experience: Bring a minimum of 10 years’ experience in commercial management within the Irish construction industry, with a specialized focus on public works, RIAI, JCT, NEC contracts. A proven track record in contract management, cost control, and successful business development is essential.
- Contractual Mastery: Demonstrate extensive knowledge and expertise in dealing with public works, RIAI, JCT, NEC contracts, and other relevant frameworks.
- Driving Business Growth: Proactively contribute to business expansion by fostering client relationships, generating leads, and diversifying the project portfolio.
- Financial Expertise: Display a strong understanding of financial matters, adept at analyzing data, enhancing profitability, and assessing project feasibility.
