A leading and well-established civil engineering contractor is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor (7+ years’ experience) to join their team on a permanent basis. This role will involve overseeing water and civil infrastructure projects across Dublin and Kildare, with a strong on-site presence. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take on a leadership role, manage complex projects, and influence commercial strategy within a growing company that offers long-term stability, exposure to major infrastructure works, and clear career progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the commercial management and cost control of water and civil infrastructure projects
- Prepare and review interim valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Monitor and report on project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial performance
- Oversee procurement of subcontractors and the preparation/negotiation of subcontract agreements
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, verify valuations, and provide guidance to project teams
- Mentor and support junior and intermediate Quantity Surveyors, providing guidance on commercial practices
- Liaise closely with site teams, project managers, subcontractors, and clients to manage expectations and resolve issues
- Identify, evaluate, and manage commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring value for the company
- Ensure all commercial activities comply with company procedures, legal requirements, and industry standards
Requirements:
- Minimum 7+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Extensive experience in water, utilities, or civil infrastructure projects is highly desirable
- Strong expertise in cost management, contract administration, and commercial leadership
- Proven ability to lead on-site teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
- Relevant degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
