A Tier 1 Main Contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their high-performing project teams. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will manage multiple apartment and commercial projects to maximise commercial returns while maintaining strong client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Track project deliverables and ensure commercial and administrative systems, budgets, and cost control procedures are effectively used
- Manage commercial teams and lead the planning and implementation of project commercial strategies
- Conduct in-depth reviews of tender documentation to identify risks and opportunities
- Review and approve selected contractors and suppliers
- Ensure all contractual correspondence is in line with contract terms, including detailed analysis of EOT notifications and claims
- Continuously monitor projects to ensure delivery within time and budget constraints
- Assist with defining project scope, goals, and deliverables
- Report on actual costs vs estimates, analyze variances, and implement solutions
- Present reports highlighting project progress, issues, and resolutions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying & Construction Economics, or equivalent recognized by SCSI or RICS
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor
- In-depth knowledge of construction contracts (RIAI, FIDIC, JCT, etc.)
- Strong commercial acumen with advanced knowledge of the market and competitors
