Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) – Cork
Seeking a highly skilled and accomplished Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join my client’s office in Cork. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of excellence in mechanical design, demonstrating leadership, innovation, and technical expertise. This role requires leading complex projects, mentoring engineers at all levels, and driving best-in-class engineering standards. The successful candidate will oversee mechanical design on projects of varying scale while fostering cross-team collaboration and maintaining strong client engagement.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (minimum)
- 6+ years of Building Services Consultancy Design experience in Ireland (candidates without local knowledge and a proven track record of leading engineering teams in Ireland will not be considered).
- Experience with thermal modelling, energy assessment, and BIM (advantageous)
Key Skills
- Expertise in HVAC, water services, heating systems, fuel, drainage, and BMS
- Ability to lead and manage mechanical design on projects of all sizes
- Strong project management and leadership skills
- Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness
