Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Dublin (Hybrid)
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer required to join a leading, award-winning Building Services consultancy delivering high-performance engineering solutions across Ireland.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage full mechanical design across projects of all sizes, always demonstrating client care.
- Provide quality control and technical guidance on Mechanical Engineering deliverables across teams.
- Manage project performance, including cost control, client satisfaction, and project profitability.
- Collaborate with internal multidisciplinary teams across offices and external project stakeholders.
- Oversee and contribute to detailed designs including HVAC, LTHW, water services, fuel systems, BMS, and drainage.
- Attend site visits, client meetings, surveys, and represent the company as a technical lead.
- Mentor and support the development of junior engineers.
- Ensure compliance with Irish Building Regulations (particularly TGD Parts B, F, G, L).
- Coordinate with BIM teams and support the use of dynamic simulation and thermal modelling tools.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Level 7 minimum).
- 5+ years’ Mechanical Design experience within a Building Services Consultancy.
- Strong expertise in water, heating, HVAC, and BMS design across a variety of building types.
- Excellent knowledge of Irish building codes and standards.
- Proven experience in delivering detailed design packages through the full lifecycle.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office; IESVE and other thermal/energy modelling tools are advantageous.
- Strong project leadership and stakeholder coordination experience.
- Chartered or working towards Chartership (support provided).
- Commercial sector and BIM experience are highly desirable.
