Job Title: Senior Electrical Design Engineer – MEP

Salary: €70,000 DOE
About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading MEP consultancy on commercial and residential projects across Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of high-profile developments, from large-scale residential complexes to modern commercial spaces.
In addition, this client has introduced a progressive 4-day work week, offering every Friday off with no reduction in pay. This structure is based on a 35-hour working week and is designed to support a healthier work-life balance while maintaining high levels of productivity. Key Projects:
You will have the opportunity to work on projects such as:
- Large-scale residential developments incorporating energy-efficient electrical distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
- Modern commercial office spaces with integrated power, lighting, and data systems.
- Mixed-use buildings combining residential and commercial elements, including sustainable electrical design solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the electrical design of MEP systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems for commercial and residential buildings.
- Develop detailed design drawings, specifications, and reports in compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including architects, mechanical engineers, and structural engineers.
- Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Mentor junior engineers and support project delivery from concept through to completion.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical design for commercial/residential projects.
- Strong knowledge of MEP electrical design standards, codes, and building regulations.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Dialux, or similar design software.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
