Job Title: Senior Electrical Design Engineer MEP

Salary: €70,000 DOE
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering consultancy delivering complex building services projects across Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity to work on technically challenging developments within both existing and new buildings, contributing to high-quality and efficient electrical design solutions.
Key Projects
You will have the opportunity to work on projects such as:
- Electrical system upgrades within large operational buildings to improve performance, resilience, and energy efficiency.
- Electrical services design for technically complex environments requiring high levels of reliability and compliance.
- Refurbishment and redevelopment of occupied buildings where careful coordination and phased delivery are essential.
- Projects incorporating modern energy-efficient electrical infrastructure and smart building technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design of MEP systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, fire alarms, and data/communications infrastructure.
- Develop detailed design drawings, specifications, and technical reports in compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
- Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including architects, structural engineers, and mechanical engineers.
- Conduct design reviews, technical assessments, and quality checks to ensure compliance, safety, and performance.
- Support the delivery of projects from concept through to construction and commissioning.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and graduate team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- 5+ years’ experience in electrical design within a building services consultancy environment.
- Strong understanding of electrical design standards, building regulations, and industry best practice.
- Experience working on complex building refurbishment or upgrade projects is desirable.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or similar design software.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver within programme timelines.
