A well-respected multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their Dublin office. The successful candidate will lead the design and delivery of electrical building services across a range of sectors, including commercial developments, healthcare, education, infrastructure, and mixed-use projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design of electrical systems for medium to large-scale building projects from concept through to handover.
- Oversee the preparation of specifications, drawings, reports, and schedules in compliance with current standards and regulations.
- Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, structural, architectural, and sustainability teams to deliver fully integrated solutions.
- Manage workloads, delegate tasks, and mentor junior and intermediate engineers within the team.
- Attend client, design, and site meetings, providing clear technical guidance throughout all project stages.
- Ensure quality assurance, compliance, and health and safety standards are met across all design outputs.
- Contribute to fee proposals, resource planning, and the delivery of projects within scope and budget.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree-qualified in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in electrical building services design within a consultancy environment.
- Strong working knowledge of current Irish building regulations, IS standards, and CIBSE best practices.
- Proficient in using Revit and electrical design software such as Dialux, Relux, and Amtech.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams and external stakeholders.
- Chartered or actively working toward chartership (Engineers Ireland or equivalent).
- Strong communication and team leadership skills.
