Road Design Engineer with 3-5 years’ experience needed to join a highly respected, award-winning international multi-disciplinary consultancy in Cork, with offices in Dublin, Galway & Dundalk. This role will involve planning and design of transport projects on the growing Highways and Transportation team. The role will involve planning and design of road, rail, public transport and active travel projects throughout Ireland, input to statutory processes (EIAR, CPO etc), procurement processes, preparation of contract documents, contract administration and construction supervision.
Duties:
- The successful Road Design Engineer will work as part of a design team within a multidiscipline office and shall work on a broad range of projects in both the public and private realm.
- As Road Design Engineer you will be involved in projects including active travel, urban and rural road schemes, rail, public transport and pavement rehabilitation etc.
- The successful Road Design Engineer will be responsible for the preliminary design of the above-mentioned projects along with the planning, tender documentation and contract administration.
- Maintaining accurate records of all process steps.
Requirements:
- Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
- The successful Civil Engineer should have 3 -5 years post graduate Civil Engineering experience within an engineering consultancy in Ireland or the UK.
- The successful Road Design Engineer will be experienced in relevant design standards including a detailed knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads etc.
- Experience in planning and design of road schemes (preferably in Ireland) including feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, statutory processes, preparation of contract documents, contact administration and construction supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
