An experienced Quantity Surveyor is urgently required by a leading construction cost consultancy in Limerick to join the growing team. The ideal Quantity Surveyor should hold professional membership to SCSI or RICS (or working towards professional membership) and have a minimum of 4 years’ experience, of which a minimum of 2 years’ experience must have been within consultancy environment.
They have a range of projects across civils and buildings, some of which include educational, mixed-use, residential, industrial and commercial from concept design to final accounts.
This opportunity would suit a highly motivated and ambitious Quantity Surveyor who can demonstrate good communication and reporting skills, strong work who can assist the Directors in developing the quantity surveying team.
Some of the duties will include preparation of cost estimates through all stages of the project, preparing estimates, tender and contract documents, bills of quantities, schedules, contract administration, tender costings, and agreeing final accounts.
Minimum requirements and desired experience:
- Educational qualification in Quantity Surveying
- Professional membership to SCSI or RICS, or working towards it
- A minimum of 4 years+ post graduate experience, some of which must have been gained within a cost consultancy environment
- Be commercially aware and ambitious
- Strong presentation and organisational skills
- Possess strong construction knowledge
- Proficient in MS Excel, Buildsoft and Cubit
- Knowledge of the public procurement process in Ireland and other forms of contracts including GCCC
- Manage strict budgets to ensure commercial success of medium and large-scale projects
- Have proven success delivering a range of building and civils projects
- Competently preparing cost reports, monthly valuations, final accounts, estimating, cost planning and resolving contractual claims
- Must hold eligibility to work in Ireland
