Quantity Surveyor – Cork
A Quantity Surveyor is required to join Ireland’s leading multi-disciplinary Engineering and Construction company. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Cork with flexibility for hybrid working. The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of civil and infrastructure projects across the Munster region, ensuring cost efficiency, value delivery, and compliance with contractual obligations.
Role:
- Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets, valuations, and cost reports throughout all project stages.
- Conduct detailed quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and value engineering exercises.
- Administer contracts and subcontracts, including the preparation of tender documents, procurement schedules, and contract variations.
- Evaluate and process interim applications for payment, final accounts, and change orders.
- Provide accurate and timely cost forecasting and cash flow analysis.
- Liaise with project managers, site teams, design consultants, and clients to ensure commercial alignment.
- Assist with risk management, identifying potential cost impacts and opportunities.
- Support project delivery teams with commercial and contractual guidance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of quantity surveying processes and mentor junior QS team members.
Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil engineering or infrastructure projects (roads, utilities, marine, etc.).
- Excellent knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, Public Works).
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, CostX, or similar QS software.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel to sites within Cork and surrounding counties
Salary
- Salary €80k – €90k DOE
