A well-established Tier 1 main contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Galway. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of educational construction projects while managing cost control and financial aspects.
- Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and financial reporting for construction projects.
- Monitor project costs and ensure projects are completed within budget.
- Manage subcontractor agreements
- Conduct site visits to assess project progress and ensure compliance with cost plans.
- Prepare tender documents
- Review and assess contract variations
- Liaise with clients, project managers, and site teams to address cost-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure proper documentation of costs, changes, and financial details.
- Provide support in the preparation of final accounts and ensure timely submission.
Requirements:
- 3+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a main contractor.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management.
- Proficiency in cost estimation, cost control, and tendering.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with construction software and Microsoft Office applications.
Salary & Benefits:
- €70,000 – €80,000, based on experience.
