Our client is a pioneering civil engineering firm based in Cork, renowned for innovative solutions and commitment to excellence in infrastructure development. The company’s projects range from large-scale urban developments to intricate civil engineering works, all aimed at enhancing the built environment and contributing to sustainable development. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to join their team and lead projects to successful completion.

Job Overview: The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of various civil engineering projects. This role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. It requires strong leadership, exceptional organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of civil engineering principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Initiation: The Project Manager will define project scope, goals, and deliverables. They will develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resources, and budgets, and conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
  • Project Execution and Monitoring: This role involves leading and coordinating project teams, including engineers, architects, and subcontractors. The Project Manager will monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions. They will ensure adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and client specifications.
  • Stakeholder Management: The Project Manager will maintain effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and team members. They will provide regular project updates and reports to senior management and clients, and address and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Financial Management: Managing project budgets is a key responsibility, including tracking and controlling all financial aspects. The Project Manager will approve expenditures, monitor costs, and provide financial reports. They will also negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to ensure the best value for the company.
  • Quality Assurance: The Project Manager will implement and oversee quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet the required standards. They will conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications and safety protocols.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in the civil engineering industry.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and quality standards.
