Project Civil/Structural Design Lead – Water & Wastewater
Exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Civil/Structural Design Lead is required to join a leading multidisciplinary consultancy working on major water and wastewater infrastructure programmes across Ireland.
You’ll play a key role in the Design & Build team, leading the civil/structural design for a variety of projects – including pumping stations, treatment works, pipelines and network improvements – delivered for national utilities and contracting partners through several existing frameworks.
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a pivotal technical leadership role within a growing team. You’ll be responsible for delivering detailed design packages, coordinating across multiple disciplines, and contributing to high-profile infrastructure projects that align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and deliver tangible community benefits.

- Trunk mains, rising mains & water supply reinforcement schemes
- Urban drainage, stormwater management & nature-based solutions
- Design–Build collaborations for water & wastewater infrastructure
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed civil and structural design solutions for a range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Scope and coordinate all necessary surveys: planning & ecology inputs, topographical, geotechnical and road condition surveys.
- Undertake site visits to assess project scope and inform design development.
- Lead coordination with MEICA designers and manage inputs from planning and ecology teams.
- Liaise with clients, in-house teams, other offices and external consultants.
- Participate in constructability reviews and support delivery teams through the design process.
- Produce design reports, specifications, programmes and associated documentation
- Attend design team and client meetings, representing the civil/structural discipline.
Requirements:
- Level 8 Degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Working towards Chartership with a recognised engineering institution.
- Strong working knowledge of water and wastewater assets, standards and specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver design work to deadlines, both independently and within a team.
- Excellent drafting, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, collaborative approach.
