Due to continued growth, new contracts and an extensive pipeline of work, one of Ireland’s top Civil & Marine Engineering Contractors are hiring a Senior Buyer/Procurement Manager. This is a full-time position based in Cork.
Duties:
- Driving lowest costs and greatest value for the organisation including negotiation of supplier agreements, sourcing innovation and supplier relationship management.
- Point of contact and resolution for all issues relating to preferred suppliers.
- Anticipating, analysing and monitoring market and business needs.
- Design and deliver buying strategy reports, including recommendations based on commercial and technical factors.
- Respond to queries from site, estimating, finance and commercial departments.
- Ensure all data is accurately maintained to enable the business to rely on the information for decision making.
Requirements:
- Experience in a similar role within the construction industry is required, preferably in the Civils sector.
- Possess strong business/commercial acumen allied with the ability to see bigger picture.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proven experience at delivering strong business results including through negotiated agreements.
- Ability to assess tenders and quotations from potential suppliers, identifying opportunities.
- Ability to meet deadlines, multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Salary:
- Salary circa €75k – €85k DOE
