Mechanical Quantity Surveyor – Portugal
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 5 years’ experience to join a team on a major Data Centre in Portugal. The successful candidate will take commercial responsibility for mechanical services packages on a technically complex, high-value development, ensuring strong cost control, contractual compliance, and financial performance from pre-construction through to final account.

Responsibilities
- Full commercial management of mechanical services packages including HVAC, pipework, plant and associated systems
- Preparation and submission of interim valuations, variation assessments, cost reports and final accounts
- Administration of standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT, NEC) and timely issuance of contractual notices
- Procurement, negotiation and commercial management of subcontractors
- Cost forecasting, cash flow management and margin protection throughout the project lifecycle
- Identification, evaluation and management of commercial risks and opportunities
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally within mechanical or MEP contracting.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Experience delivering large-scale, technically complex projects such as data centres, pharmaceutical or industrial builds
- Professional accreditation (RICS or equivalent) desirable
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of mechanical building services
- EU Passport is essential.
