Mechanical Design Engineer – Dublin
A leading M&E consultancy in Ireland, specialising in energy efficiency retrofits for commercial buildings and select new-build projects. Focused on delivering sustainable, cost-effective solutions to help clients achieve net-zero targets.
Key Projects:
- Energy upgrade and HVAC optimisation projects across existing commercial or mixed‑use buildings.
- Deep retrofit and decarbonisation programmes for public‑sector and institutional facilities.
- Mechanical plant replacement, heat‑pump integration, and system modernisation for large office or technology campuses.
Duties:
- Assist in the development of mechanical designs, drawings, and 3D models to meet project requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support the integration of mechanical systems into both new-build and retrofit projects.
- Perform mechanical calculations and support simulations to optimise system performance, energy efficiency, and sustainability outcomes.
- Contribute to the preparation and review of technical documentation to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and Irish regulations.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, site inspections, and retrofit surveys to support quality, safety, and decarbonisation objectives.
- Support projects focused on energy upgrades, carbon reduction, and modernisation of existing buildings across the Dublin region.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer with an Irish consultancy (local market knowledge required).
- Experience in retrofit design and decarbonisation of existing buildings is essential.
- Strong understanding of energy‑efficient design and building services optimisation.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD required; Revit experience is an advantage.
Salary & Benefits:
- €40K to €50K – DOE
- 24 annual leave days
