Lead Mechanical Engineer (Portugal)
I am recruiting for a Lead Mechanical Engineer for a Tier 1 Mechanical Contractor to work in Portugal on a large Pharmaceutical Project. Responsibilities
- Report to the Project Manager and support the successful delivery of mechanical construction activities
- Coordinate onsite activities between mechanical and other project disciplines
- Manage and support a team of Area Engineers responsible for specific construction areas
- Supervise and mentor site-based Project Engineers
- Work with the Construction Manager to monitor the construction schedule and project progress
- Prioritise offsite pipe fabrication and design to align with construction sequencing
- Coordinate project activities with the offsite fabrication team
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in mechanical engineering, including at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role
- Strong experience in mechanical construction projects within pharmaceutical, biotech, semiconductor or oil & gas sectors
- Experience working for a mechanical contractor is highly desirable
- Proven experience working on the construction phase of projects including piping fabrication, piping installation, pressure testing and equipment installation
- Proficiency in Navisworks or similar coordination software
