A leading construction company is seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on major commercial and residential projects in Galway. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated early-career professional to develop their cost management and commercial skills while working alongside experienced project teams and senior quantity surveyors.
This role will suit someone eager to grow in a structured and supportive environment, with past placement or internship experience in construction being highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation
- Support tracking of project costs, variations, and valuations
- Help with subcontractor procurement and cost reporting
- Maintain accurate financial records and project documentation
- Collaborate with site teams, senior quantity surveyors, and project managers
- Learn to identify potential risks and opportunities on projects
- Contribute to the smooth commercial management of projects under supervision
Requirements:
- 0–2 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role; previous internship or placement experience in construction projects will be considered
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related discipline
- Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Interest in construction projects, cost management, and contract administration
- Knowledge of Irish construction practices is desirable but not essential
- Membership or working towards membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland) is advantageous
