A Junior Quantity Surveyor is required for a well-established Main Civil Engineering Contractor to work on a major road scheme in Kildare. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone who has completed a college placement or work experience with a contractor. The successful Junior Quantity Surveyor will gain invaluable hands-on experience while working alongside an experienced commercial team on a live infrastructure project. This project is due to commence at the beginning of 2026 and will run for approximately two years, offering long-term prospects and opportunities for career progression within the company as it continues to grow.
Duties:
- Assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager with day-to-day commercial activities.
- Support the preparation of valuations, variations, and cost reports.
- Help manage subcontractor accounts, procurement, and payments.
- Assist with the measurement of quantities and take-offs from drawings.
- Contribute to cost control and value engineering initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and contractual obligations.
- Attend site meetings and maintain accurate commercial records.
Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Must have work experience or a college placement with a main contractor in Ireland or the UK.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
- Eagerness to learn and develop within a site-based commercial role.
- Fluent English and eligible to work in Ireland.
- Full driving license preferred.
Salary:
- Salary circa €35-45K
