A well-established engineering firm in Galway is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join their dynamic team. The company works on diverse mechanical projects, delivering innovative solutions across multiple industries.
Role Overview:
The Junior Mechanical Engineer will support the design, analysis, and implementation of mechanical systems, assisting senior engineers and contributing to projects from concept through to completion.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems.
- Prepare technical drawings, schematics, and documentation using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Support project planning, analysis, and reporting.
- Conduct basic calculations and simulations to ensure design feasibility and compliance with standards.
- Participate in site visits and inspections as required.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of designs, changes, and test results.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Practical experience through internships, placements, or projects is advantageous.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Basic understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of ISO standards and health & safety regulations is a plus.
