My client, a leading residential developer, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join their construction site team in South Dublin. This role will be responsible for implementing the company’s safety management system on site and will work closely with the Health & Safety Manager to support the successful delivery of the project.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the construction management team to maintain a safe and productive site
  • Promote continuous improvement of health & safety standards on site
  • Implement and monitor the Health & Safety Management System
  • Identify site-specific hazards and ensure effective control measures are in place
  • Maintain site safety folders and statutory documentation
  • Ensure compliance with site rules by all contractors
  • Support site management with statutory health & safety obligations
  • Assist with risk assessments, audits and safe systems of work
  • Coordinate contractor compliance and safe working practices
  • Carry out site inspections and address non-conformances
  • Support accident and incident investigations
  • Deliver and contribute to toolbox talks
  • Identify training needs for site personnel and contractors

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience managing health & safety in construction
  • Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety
  • IOSH membership preferred
  • Ability to manage health & safety independently on site
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage risk and implement control measures
  • Experience working with multiple contractors and trades
  • Confident chairing and delivering health & safety meetings
