My client, a leading residential developer, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join their construction site team in Cork. This role will support the delivery of safe, compliant and well-managed residential projects, working closely with site management and the Health & Safety Manager.
Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor the Health & Safety Management System on site
- Promote continuous improvement of health & safety standards in a practical manner
- Identify site-specific hazards and ensure appropriate controls are in place
- Maintain site safety documentation and statutory records
- Enforce site rules and contractor compliance
- Support site management with statutory H&S requirements
- Assist with risk assessments, audits, investigations and corrective actions
- Deliver toolbox talks and contribute to safety training initiatives
- Coordinate safe systems of work with contractors
- Participate in incident and accident investigations
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years’ experience managing health & safety in construction
- Relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety
- IOSH membership preferred
- Strong knowledge of risk management and control measures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider site team
- Strong communication skills with contractors and stakeholders
- Experience chairing H&S meetings and delivering presentations
