Health and Safety Lead
A well-established Tier 1 Main Building Contractor in Limerick is seeking a Health and Safety Lead with over 5 years of construction health and safety experience to join their team. This role will involve assisting the HSE director across various projects ensuring company strategy and expectations are consistently achieved. The successful candidate will assume complete responsibility for EHS at the company and will be able to build and manage a health and safety team which will be reporting directly to the successful candidate. This opportunity is ideal for a Health and Safety Lead looking to move towards a large organization and work on exciting large-scale projects.
Role:
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills.
- Support the HSE Director in effectively implementing the company strategy and expectations across SOPs, Guidance, etc.
- Conduct thorough safety inspections at Client workplaces according to the frequency and intrusiveness guidelines provided by the HSE Director.
- Complete risk reviews in the absence of the Director and actively contribute to ongoing reviews.
- Participate in site visits following accidents/incidents, assisting in investigations, and assuming leadership in the absence of the Project Director.
- Collaborate with enforcement authorities during routine visits or investigations after incidents on site.
- Customize the management system to accommodate specific client requirements with approval from the line manager.
- Notify the line manager of any indications of decline or a lack of commitment to meeting client safety expectations.
Requirements:
- Holds a degree/diploma in Health and Safety.
- Has accumulated over 7 years of experience.
- Available for travel to multiple sites in the Limerick area.
- Preference for candidates with prior experience working with a main contractor.
