Estimator – Hybrid Role
A respected main contractor with its head office in Dublin is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Estimator to join their expanding team. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile commercial, industrial, and educational projects across Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate costings.
- Develop detailed estimates for labour, materials, plant, and subcontractor packages.
- Compile and deliver tender submissions within deadlines.
- Assess project risks and opportunities to support decision-making.
- Source, review, and negotiate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing.
- Collaborate with Commercial, Contracts, and Project Managers to maintain consistent cost data.
- Participate in pre- and post-tender meetings with clients, consultants, and design teams.
- Contribute to value engineering initiatives and alternative construction solutions.
- Produce detailed handover documentation for project teams once tenders are secured.
- Support early-stage project planning with cost advice and procurement strategies.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in estimating within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of Irish construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Advanced numerical and analytical ability with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency in estimating software (Buildsoft, Cubit, Causeway) plus MS Excel and COINS.
