Exciting opportunity for an experienced environmental scientist with a leading environmental consultancy!
I’ve partnered with a well-established consultancy in Ireland to help them find an experienced environmental scientist. My client is highly regarded for delivering challenging, complex EIAR projects and offers a genuinely supportive work environment, strong benefits, and clear opportunities for career development.
This role will suit an ambitious environmental scientist who enjoys taking ownership of projects and working across a diverse portfolio of large-scale developments.
Projects:
- Large-scale wind farm and solar energy projects (including offshore)
- Waste-to-energy and manufacturing developments
- Large-scale residential developments across Galway and Dublin
Role:
- Work closely with the Environmental Team on a variety of EIAR and planning projects
- Manage and oversee projects day-to-day, including fee agreements, invoicing, and meeting client expectations
- Take full ownership of projects from inception to completion, ensuring deadlines, quality, and profitability are achieved
- Oversee and mentor junior team members and sub-consultants to deliver high-quality outputs
- Report regularly to the Environmental Team Director and provide updates to clients
- Support business development through proposals, opportunity spotting, and helping grow the project pipeline
- As a senior environmental scientist, you will play a key role in project delivery while helping to shape the future growth of the team.
Requirements:
- Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years’ post-graduate experience in a consultancy environment
- Strong experience delivering EIARs and a solid understanding of the associated methodologies
- Proven track record working on large-scale projects, ideally within renewables (wind/solar preferred)
- Excellent understanding of the Irish planning system
- Broad technical knowledge across civil engineering, construction management, ecology, hydrology/hydrogeology, noise, air, traffic, geotechnical, and other EIAR subject areas
Salary & Benefits:
- €50k – €60k DOE
