Exciting opportunity for an Environmental Scientist with leading environmental consultancy – flexible office locations in Ireland!
I’ve partnered with a leading consultancy in Ireland, to help them find an experienced Environmental Scientist. My client is well known for delivering challenging, complex EIAR projects and offers a genuinely supportive work environment, great benefits, and strong opportunities for career development.
Projects:
- Large-scale wind farm and solar energy projects (including offshore)
- Waste-to-energy and manufacturing developments
- Large-scale residential developments across Galway and Dublin
Role:
- Work closely with the Environmental Team on a variety of EIAR and planning projects.
- Manage and oversee projects day-to-day, including fee agreements, invoicing, and meeting client expectations.
- Take full ownership of projects from inception to completion – ensuring deadlines, quality, and profitability are achieved.
- Oversee and mentor junior team members and sub-consultants to deliver top-quality outputs.
- Report regularly to the Environmental Team Director and provide updates to clients.
- Play a role in business development by supporting proposals, spotting opportunities, and helping grow the team’s work pipeline.
Requirements:
- Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years’ post-graduate experience in a consultancy environment.
- Strong experience with EIARs and a solid understanding of the methodology behind delivering them.
- A proven track record working on large-scale projects, ideally within renewables (wind/solar preferred).
- Excellent understanding of the Irish planning system.
- Broad technical knowledge across civil engineering, construction management, ecology, hydrology/hydrogeology, noise, air, traffic, geotechnical, and other EIAR subject areas.
