Senior Electrical Project Engineer
A senior-level electrical design role delivering complex projects across the energy and industrial sectors. The position covers full lifecycle delivery from concept through construction and commissioning, working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment with regular client and site interaction.
Key Project Focus for 2026
- Hyperscale & Colocation Data Centres – HV/MV infrastructure, substations, redundancy and resilience
- Grid & Power Infrastructure – substations, grid connections, and utility interfaces
- Energy & Sustainability Projects – renewables integration, BESS, and energy optimisation for mission-critical facilities
Experience Required
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 7+ years’ experience delivering complex electrical projects
- Strong background in energy, power infrastructure, industrial or mission-critical projects
- Chartered status advantageous but not essential
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design delivery on large-scale projects
- MV/LV distribution and substation design (AIS/GIS)
- Power systems studies (load flow, short circuit, protection)
- Grid connections and renewable integration (PV, wind, BESS)
- Technical specifications, drawings, and tender documentation
- Site support, commissioning, and stakeholder coordination
- Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to design standards
Technical Skills
- MV/LV systems, substations, protection & control
- Earthing/grounding, HV & underground cabling
- Familiarity with Irish & international standards
- AutoCAD essential; power systems tools an advantage
