Design Manager (Residential)

Design Manager required for our client – a highly reputable turnkey fit-out contractor specialising in residential student accommodation, and hotels – based in North Dublin (with offices/operations in the with operations throughout the Dublin area. This is a hands-on leadership role in a growing, design-focused company where you’ll combine active design delivery with team oversight and contribute to shaping standards as the business expands across diverse sectors. We are ideally looking for a Design Manager with strong residential design experience in Ireland (or similar fast-paced markets).

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Design Manager, Lead Designer, or Senior Designer
• Strong hands-on design background in residential fit-out/interiors (apartments, showhouses, etc.)
• A portfolio demonstrating both creative design concepts and successful execution/delivery
• Experience managing and mentoring other designers/team members
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills (clients, contractors, subcontractors, procurement)
• Proficiency with design tools such as SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
• Ability to balance hands-on design work with leadership responsibilities
• Experience in a fast-paced, growing environment – ideally helping scale or mature a design function
• Must speak fluent English and be eligible to work in Ireland

Role:

• Deliver high-quality design work across key projects from tender stage to completion
• Set and maintain design standards, guidelines, and best practices
• Review and refine design concepts, layouts, and final outputs
• Plan and prioritise design work to meet tight deadlines
• Collaborate closely with clients, main contractors, subcontractors, and procurement teams
• Provide constructive feedback and support performance development for team members
• Actively contribute to shaping the daily working environment within the design office and showroom
• Help create a collaborative, inspiring, and well-organised design space
• Play a key role in growing the business through design thinking, ideas, and leadership

Salary:

• Basic salary circa €80k – €90k + package
