We are working with a well-established engineering consultancy operating across Ireland and the UK, with offices in Dublin, Glasgow, and Edinburgh. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to recruit an experienced Civil Structural Technician to join their team in Ireland. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to take on responsibility and help shape the future of an expanding practice.
Remote work available (hybrid or up to 90% remote) – candidates must have relevant Irish experience.
Sample Projects:
- Contribute to major regeneration schemes such as a €20 million riverside development delivering 200+ homes and complex marine groundworks.
- Be part of the team delivering a €146 million urban infrastructure and housing programme, including a €26 million site infrastructure package and a 195-unit residential build.
- Work on technically challenging sites, including a €7 million riverfront apartment scheme requiring flood defence-sensitive design and contaminated land mitigation.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in a civil/structural consultancy, ideally within the Irish market.
- Level 6 or above qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Proficient in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D, InfoDrainage, and CADS RC is highly desirable.
- Experience preparing and submitting documentation for planning approvals and statutory authorities (e.g. Uisce Éireann).
- Road Safety Audit Team Member or Auditor certification is a bonus.
- Strong time management and communication skills.
- Membership of a professional body such as Engineers Ireland.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Produce high-quality technical drawings and models for civil and structural projects, including residential schemes, new builds, and conservation works.
- Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to develop accurate Revit and CAD drawings.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical input throughout design and construction stages.
- Conduct quality control on drawings and manage document updates in line with ISO-certified Quality Management Systems.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the design team.
